Who Are We

We are a modern computerised accountancy practice specialising in bringing professional business and tax advice to the small business at a fixed fee they can afford. Founded by Ed Lowe, it now has over twenty years experience in providing services to the small business.

We like to think that we are "small enough to care but large enough to cope".

All our services are provided by suitably trained and qualified staff with many years experience in helping and understanding the needs of the small business.

	Ed Lowe FCCA FCMA MCMI Business Advice and Taxation Queries Email - edward@edlowe.co.uk Ed began his Accountancy career in 1970 as a Trainee Management Accountant with Tudor Crisps (now Walkers). A 10 year period in industry saw further employments with Cummins Engine Co Ltd as Senior Cost Analyst, Commodore Business Machines (UK) Ltd as Company Accountant and Cole Cranes Ltd as Chief Accountant. Qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) in 1979 and a Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) in 1984. Accepted as a member of the British Institute of Management (MIMge) in 1979. In 1980 he moved from industry into public practice and now has more than 25 years experience of providing business, accounting and tax advice to the small business.

These staff have day to day contact with clients and have dressed in their "sunday best" for these photos. You should see them on Fridays when we have an optional "dress down day",
if they come to work in casual wear they donate 50p to a local charity.

Where Are We

We are based in the small town of Sedgefield in County Durham, 10 miles north of Stockton on Tees and 12 miles south of Durham City. Sedgefield is easily accessible from four major roads, situated on the junction of the A689 and the A177, 2 miles from the A1(M) and 8 miles from the A19.

What We Do

At Edward F Lowe we specialise in practical business, accounting and tax advice to small businesses. We provide all the of services you would expect from an Accountant and much more, with the emphasis on "proactive" personal service.

Our 600+ clients include Sole Traders, Partnerships and Private Limited Companies in all types of trades from Manufacturing and Service Industries to technology based businesses and professional practice. Size varies from the small part-time business with no employees to Limited Companies with £3 million turnover and 50+ employees.

Thanks to technological advances, we are able to offer our services nationwide via the internet with the use of Email, and Courier Service. Many of our clients have never visited our offices in Sedgefield but at least can, from these WEB pages see what we look like and where we are. (See Accounts section for further details)

Our modern computerised accountancy practice enables us to reduce the time involved in "number crunching" and spend more time on tax planning and providing business advice at a reasonable fee.
